Tehran(IP): The Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps announced Iran's readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi Navy in various military fields.

Iran PressIran News: Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, met Iraqi Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ahmed Jassim al-Ma'arij in Tehran on Sunday to discuss regional issues and ways to enhance cooperation to strengthen sustainable security in the region.

Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri called Iraq and the people of Iraq as friends and brothers of Iran and said that the cooperation of the armed forces and the people of the two countries in the fight against Takfiri terrorism and the hegemonic policies of the trans-regional arrogant powers have led to good results. 

"We are ready for any military cooperation with the Iraqi Navy to strengthen the existing defense and security capabilities in this area.", added Iran's top navy official.

In this meeting, Ahmad Jassim Al-Maarij also welcomed any cooperation with Iran in the military field.

On Saturday, a high-ranking military delegation from Iraq arrived in Tehran to hold talks with Iranian officials to expand defense and military ties.
