Iran Press/ Iran News: After meeting with Defense Minister of Iraq Lt. General Juma Anad Saadoun, Major General Mohammad Baqeri told reporters:" In this meeting, we talked about the defense industry and the security of common borders, joint military exercises, and military training."
He added: "The meeting aims to develop and deepen security in Iran and Iraq, which, of course, Iraq has faced several conspiracies in recent years; ISIS has been a problem in recent years, and Iranian forces and the advisers have sided with the Iraqi army and forces, and now while the Americans are looking for the re-emergence of terrorists in the region, the cooperation will provide better security for Iraq."
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces also announced the signing of a document soon between the two countries, adding: "We have had cooperation in defense and equipment in the past, and in this regard, we have concluded and implemented contracts, and Iran provided products which Iraq needed."
The high ranking military official noted: "We also had a lot of training, operational and advisory cooperation with Iraq, and in this regard, discussions took place that whenever the Iraqis feel the need, we will help."
On Friday, Defense Minister of Iraq Lt. General Juma Anad Saadoun and a delegation arrived in Tehran Saturday at the Minister of Defense's invitation, who met with Brigadier General Hatami, Minister of Defense.
