Tehran (IP) - With 457 new deaths due to COVID-19 in Iran, the total fatalities of the disease have exceeded 40,000, according to the latest statistics provided by Iran's health ministry.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari, announced on Thursday that 726,585 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 541,566 of the total infected people have recovered.

According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to November 12, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 11,517 cases out of whom 3,149 patients were hospitalized, Lari stated.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 457 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 40,121.

5,614 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 5,384,988 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the health ministry spokeswoman noted.

She pointed out that provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, Yazd, and Kurdistan are regarded as red zones.

Hormozgan, Fars, Golestan, and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces are also regarded as orange and yellow zones.
