Tehran (IP) - Iran has welcomed the Russian-mediated agreement between Baku and Yerevan, hoping that the agreement, the principles of which were also outlined in the Tehran proposal, would lead to lasting peace in the Caucasus.

Iran Press/Iran News: Last night, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement mediated by Russia and ended the conflict.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement: “Once again, Iran reiterates its readiness to contribute to lasting peace and security in the region and participating in regional initiatives.

Iran also declares its readiness to assist in deploying Russian peacekeepers along the lines of contact under Articles 3 and 4 of the ceasefire agreement.
