Rouhani stresses om imposing restrictions as an effective step in fighting COVID-19

Tehran (IP) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed the need to follow the process of imposing restrictions within the framework of the approvals of the National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus.

Iran PressIran news: At the meeting of the heads of the National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus on Thursday, Rouhani described containment efforts to reduce the coronavirus outbreak and the number of patients referring to medical centers, especially hospitalized patients, as the first priority and the only way out of the current situation.

"From this perspective, imposing severe restrictions in the red zones will be an effective solution," the president said.

Rouhani pointed out: "In addition to the previous measures in imposing restrictions, the Health Committee, in cooperation with other agencies and committees, should consider the establishment of care centers and the use of capacities and accommodation centers, as well as the strengthening of medical capacity in outpatient centers, and the treatment of patients with mild symptoms at home. Proper convalescent centers are also effective in reducing hospitalized patients.

In this meeting, Iran's Minister of Health and Medical Education Saeid Namaki presented a report on the successful production of coronavirus rapid diagnostic test kits in the country, announcing the 98% effectiveness of this project compared to its foreign samples.

Namaki also elaborated on the mass production of 180,000 coronavirus rapid diagnostic test kits in the country on a daily basis.
