The Muslim people of Pakistan celebrated the birthday of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) throughout the country.

Iran PressAsia: Shia and Sunnis Muslims attended the celebrations and participated in various ‘unity week’ ceremonies.

Islamic unity week ceremonies are held between two dates of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. One of the dates is narrated by Sunnis and the other narrated by Shia.

The people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi participated in the celebrations of the 'unity week' and the birthday of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) by car and on foot.

Also, after the recent desecration of Islamic sanctities in France, the people of Pakistan condemned French President Emmanuel Macron's anti-Islam remarks in supporting the blaspheming cartoons of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

Pakistani Muslims in Lahore marched on Friday evening to express their disgust with French officials. The march was attended by a large number of Shia and Sunni scholars.

Demonstrators held placards condemning the French president's recent actions, saying unity was the only way to stand up to conspiracies against the Muslim world.

Emmanuel Macron has accused Muslims of separatism and vowed not to give up cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad.
