Iran, Azerbaijan have strong relations: Azerbaijani official

Assistant of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan and head of foreign policy affairs department of the presidential administration in a tweet thanked the deputy foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for his condolences to Azerbaijani martyrs.

Iran PressAsia: In the tweet, Hikmet Hajiyev called his meeting with Abbas Araghchi as 'very fruitful'.

He stated that Azerbaijan and Iran have strong ties of friendship and good neighborly relations.

Addressing Araghchi, he stated: "Thanks for your condolences to Azerbaijani martyrs who liberate our lands from occupation and civilians who become the target of Armenia's War Crimes."

The Special Envoy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Araghchi had met the Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Hikmat Hajiyev, continuing his meetings with the officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

After meeting with Azerbaijani officials, Araqchi will travel to Moscow and Yerevan and then to Ankara to explain Iran's proposed initiative on resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
