People in Somalia protest against France's anti-Islamic actions

People in Somalia demonstrated on Wednesday in condemnation of the insult by the French authorities and media to the religion of Islam and the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

Iran PressAfrica: Somalis set fire to the French flag as well as pictures of President Emmanuel Macron, expressing their disgust with the anti-Islamist actions of French officials and the media.

Somalis also chanted slogans calling for the severance of their country's ties with France.

In recent days, the French magazine 'Charlie Hebdo' has started publishing insulting cartoons about the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a statement far removed from the diplomatic custom and principles of democracy, said that France will continue to publish insulting cartoons against the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

Macron's anti-Islamic remarks have been widely criticized and condemned by Muslim people, officials and figures in Islamic societies around the world.
