London (IP)- In response to Washington's new sanctions against Tehran, Iran's ambassador to London in his tweet stated that the Iranian nation and government are united in defeating the US policy of sanctions and maximum pressure.

Iran Press/Iran News: Hamid Baidi Nejad, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London, added: "The US government enforces a sanctions law a hundred times and adds an Iranian ambassador, minister or company to its list every day, but these measures do not solve their problem."

Earlier Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said: "US National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien has acknowledged that the United States has overused its sanctions capability to inflict more pain on the Iranian people," adding that added: "The time has come for the United States to acknowledge that it is addicted to imposing sanctions."

In this regard, Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh also in this tweet, emphasizing that the era of unilateralism in the world is over, added: "The imposing of sanctions against himself and his colleagues is a passive reaction to the failure of US policy to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero."

The US Treasury Department on Monday evening placed the Iranian Petroleum Ministry, its affiliated organizations, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, the Minister of Petroleum, and several other individuals affiliated with the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum on its sanctions list, in which sanctioning has become an election propaganda tool by US government.

Trump administration continues to use this failed policy two years after withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and pursuing a policy of sanctions against Iran. Meanwhile the US political and civil activists say the sanctions have not worked and that the Trump administration has not achieved anything in its three-and-a-half years of intense hostility against Iran.
