Iran Press/Iran news: Brigadier General Ali-Mohammad Naeini, the spokesman of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, announced that contrary to the rumors of some media and cyberspace accounts, none of the IRGC forces were martyred in the recent terrorist attack that took place through pagers explosion in Lebanon.
Western media have concluded that the Israeli spy agency Mossad planted explosives in the batteries of pagers that exploded in Lebanon, resulting in deaths and injuries on Tuesday evening.
British Sky News channel, quoting exclusive sources, reported that communication devices fell into the hands of Mossad before reaching Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement.
Mossad succeeded in modifying Hezbollah's communication devices before they were handed over to this group, the sources said, adding that Mossad "embedded some highly explosive material known as pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) in the batteries of the devices, which exploded when temperature increased."
Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad on Wednesday said that 12 people, including two children and two healthcare workers, were killed following the pager explosions. The number of wounded is about 2,800, with about 750 injured in the south, 150 in the Bekaa Valley, and 1,850 in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
A U.S. official said that several minutes before the pagers started exploding across Lebanon, Israeli War Minister Yoav Gallant called U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and told him Israel was going to conduct an operation in Lebanon soon, but refused to give any specific details, Axios reported.
