Tehran (IP) - Chief of Staff of the President of Iran Mahmoud Vaezi said that by increasing sanctions against Iran, the United States has been campaigning to take full advantage of the presidential election, which will be held in less than two weeks.

Iran Press/Iran News: In response to Iran Press' question on the new round of US sanctions against Iran, Vaezi said that what the US is doing now is not a new round of sanctions, but the continuation of sanctions and maximum pressure.

In this election, Trump is in a dire situation and is far behind his rival Joe Biden, Chief of Staff of the President of Iran stated.

The official stressed that it does not matter to Iran which side will win because the Islamic Republic of Iran's policy is quite clear.

Vaezi noted that the United States with maximum pressure and sanctions seeks to divert American public attention to foreign affairs given that they have acted poorly to contain the coronavirus.
