The Mayor of Sarajevo in his meeting with Iran’s ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina declared his readiness to expand urban cooperation between the two sides.

Iran Press/ Asia: Abdulah Skaka in his meeting with Reza Qlichkhan appreciated Iran’s embassy to provide the ground for cementing ties between Tehran and Sarajevo municipalities and discussed the ways to expand ties between the two sides in the different fields of cooperation.

Recalling the assistance of the Iranian people during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the mayor of Sarajevo stressed the support of the Iranian people for the Iranian nation in the fight against the Coronavirus and expressed his condolences to the families of the COVID-19 victims in Iran.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina also recalled the historical and cultural commonalities of the people in both countries saying: "Urban diplomacy is an opportunity that promotes the friendship of nations".

“In this regard, the twinning agreement between Tehran and Sarajevo has created excellent grounds and capacities for cooperation between the two capitals."

Ghalichkhan and Skaka also commemorated the victims of the Coronavirus in Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina expressing hope that by controlling the pandemic, life and international relations would return to normal.
