Tehran (IP)- While welcoming the ceasefire and the end of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Chief of Staff of Iranian President Mahmoud Vaezi thanked Russia for its efforts to mediate in the conflict.

Iran Press/Iran news: Chief of Staff of Iranian President, Mahmoud Vaezi stated in his Twitter account that "our region has the necessary capacities to solve problems and ensure peace and security."

He added that Moscow's talks with Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia are a good sign of independent regional powers' capacity, and Iran is ready to assist and cooperate in the peace and stability process in accordance with international law.

We thank Russia for its efforts to mediate, and we welcome the ceasefire and the end of the war, noted Vaezi. 

Chief of Staff of Iranian President further tweeted that "We hope that the peace talks will start as soon as possible and the results of the negotiations will be in accordance with the internationally recognized rights of the two countries so that they do not lead to another war."
