Iran Press/Iran news: Reacting to the violation of the ceasefire between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Khatibzadeh, on Monday, called on both sides to have more restraint.
He condemned the launching of missile strikes on vital infrastructures and residential areas and the killing of civilians.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
Khatibzadeh added: "Iran once again calls on the two sides to adhere to the ceasefire and resume their talks within the framework of international law, respect each other's territorial integrity, and evacuate the occupied cities."
Khatibzadeh also voiced Tehran's readiness to facilitate the Baku-Yerevan talks to reach peace and a lasting solution in the region.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov read out a joint statement after a trilateral meeting in Moscow on Friday, which lasted 10 hours in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, saying that according to the agreement, the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh will start at noon on Saturday, October 10, but minutes later the ceasefire was violated.
