Iran Press/Asia: Afghan Foreign Ministry press office announced in a statement on Sunday that Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Afghan acting Foreign Minister, in a video conference with Reza Ardakanian, Iran's Minister of Energy discussed important issues including preparations for holding a joint economic commission in November and other issues such as generating electricity on joint projects and also customs tariffs for the export of Afghan agricultural products to Iran.
In the video conference, the Iranian Minister of Energy affirmed the continuous support and cooperation of Iran with Afghanistan, especially the efforts ahead to open the Harat-Khaf railway next month, which is said to make a major economic shift between the two countries.
Afghanistan and Iran have close and friendly relations in various political, economic, social, and cultural issues and cooperated with each other over the past 19 years.
