Tehran(IP): The Secretary-General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thoughts (WFPIST) announced the virtual holding of the 34th Islamic Unity Conference on October 9 to November 3, coinciding with the Week of Unity and the days of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Iran PressIran News: Hamid Shahriari on Sunday (October 4) on the sidelines of the meeting to plan and coordinate the celebration of Unity Week told reporters:

" This year, Unity Week coincides with the 8th to 13th of Aban (October 29-November 3), and we have plans for more than 200 foreign figures from the Islamic World to speak about the unity of the Islamic Ummah. These lectures are about eight geographical zones, and in each of these zones, we will have online and offline programs in the morning and afternoon," he added.

Shahriari continued: "The opening ceremony of the Islamic Unity Conference will be held on the 29th of October to November 3rd) coinciding with the 12th of Rabi-al-Awal, and the closing ceremony of the 13th of Aban, coinciding with the 17th of Rabi-al-Awal, and some of our country's dignitaries will speak at the opening and closing ceremonies."

He added: "This year, considering that we are facing a huge disaster in the world {Covid-19}, we made the discussion of Islamic cooperation in the field of calamities and disasters as the focus of the conference."

The Islamic world's approach to the prevention and fight against Corona was in the form of cooperation. These strategies and behaviors in the Islamic world were very different from the Western world.

Shahriarai added: "The Muslims of the world, especially the people of our country, today showed that they faced this calamity with full culture, while in the Western world we saw many problems that individualistic liberal culture to succeed in combating."
