The US President Donald Trump was taken to Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington after contracting the Coronavirus.

Iran PressAmerica: United States President Donald Trump has been taken to the hospital less than 24 hours after confirming he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Trump left the White House by helicopter for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he will spend a "few days" on the advice of his doctors.

The White House also said Trump had no plans to hand over the presidency duties to his deputy, Mike Pence, and would continue his official duties despite his illness.

The White House physicians also said that Trump has had a fever since Friday morning and is suffering from mild symptoms of the coronavirus.

Doctors, meanwhile, said Trump, 74, could be at risk for the coronavirus due to his age and relatively high weight.

Hours before the announcement of his COVID-19 test positive on Twitter, Trump announced that one of his aides Hope Hicks coronavirus test was positive.

The United States currently tops the world in both the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths caused by the virus.

The US government, which has been testing coronavirus much later than other countries, is facing a shortage of diagnostic kits and medical equipment due to a large number of patients.

The US government, and in particular Donald Trump, has been widely criticized for its irresponsibility in dealing with the Coronavirus in the United States.
