Iran Press/Iran News: According to Iran Press News Agency, this international conference was organized by the Municipality and the Islamic Council of Khoy in cooperation with the National Commission for UNESCO-Iran, the Institute of Humanities and Cultural Studies, Iranian Research Institute of Philosophy, and the Islamic Mysticism Association of Iran. The conference will be held online from Sep 29 to Oct 1.
In this international event, 15 university professors, prominent domestic and foreign experts in the field of Shams and Rumi from Iran, Turkey, Bangladesh, and France will deliver a speech.
September 28 and 29 have been named "Shams Commemoration Day" and "Rumi Commemoration Day" in our country's calendar respectively.
Shams Tabrizi or Shams al-Din Mohammad (1185–1248) was a Persian poet, who is credited as the spiritual instructor of Mewlana Jalal ad-Dan Muhammad Balkhi, also known as Rumi and is referenced with great reverence in Rumi's poetic collection, in particular Diwan-i Shams-i Tabrizi (The Works of Shams of Tabriz).
Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi also known as Jalil ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi and more popularly simply as Rumi (30 September 1207 – 17 December 1273), was a 13th-century Persian poet, faqih, Islamic scholar, theologian originally from Greater Khorasan in Greater Iran.
