Iran Press/Iran news: In a message to the Armenian President Armen Sargsyan on Thursday, Hassan Rouhani expressed hope that with the historical, cultural, and social ties between the two countries, as well as the efforts of Iran-Armenia officials, Tehran-Yerevan relations will expand more than before and deepen to serve the interests of the two nations.
In a message to the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Iranian president also stated: "Undoubtedly, the common cultural, social, and friendly ties between the two countries have provided the grounds for the development and deepening of relations between the two countries."
September 21, 1991, is the anniversary of Armenia's independence and national day.
