Iran, Nigeria eying on expanding energy cooperation

Abuja (IP) - During the meeting of Iran's Ambassador with the Nigerian Oil Minister, the strategy of expanding cooperation between Iran and Nigeria in the field of energy was discussed.

Iran PressAfrica: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Abuja, Mohammad Alibak, during a meeting with the Minister of Oil of Nigeria, Timipara Silva, said: Nigeria's membership in OPEC and holding the post of Secretary-General of that organization as well as its membership in Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) has created much common ground for the development of gas and oil cooperation between the two countries.

In this meeting, the two sides also stressed the commonalities between Iran and Nigeria in the field of energy, including the membership of the two countries in OPEC and GECF and the need to further expand cooperation between the two countries in this area.
