A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a successful missile strike on an important target in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Iran PressMiddle East: Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Yahya Saree tweeted on Thursday: "The Yemeni Air Force and Missile Forces conducted a joint military operation against an important target in the Saudi capital, Riyadh."

Saree pointed out that the attack was carried out with a Zulfiqar ballistic missile and four Samad 3 UAVs, saying: "The attack was carried out in response to the enemy's continued aggression and the continued siege of Yemen."

The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces stressed that if the aggression and siege of Yemen and its people continues, the crimes and aggression of the Al Saud regime will receive a painful response.

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, has launched a military invasion of Yemen since March 2015 and put it under land, sea, and air siege.

The war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has so far killed more than 16,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands, and displaced millions of Yemenis.
