Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani slammed the Zionists and their henchmen who were behind the Holy Prophet desecration, calling on the Muslim countries to voice concern about the plots orchestrated by Zionists against the Islamic culture and values.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the National Development projects held via videoconferencing on Thursday, Rouhani pointed to the French magazine Charlie Hebdo's blasphemy against the Holy Prophet of Islam and said the Israeli regime beguiles some Arab Muslim countries from Palestine's issue.

The president added that the Zionists and their allies are re-creating the path of insulting the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH) by republishing caricatures in some magazines.

French weekly Charlie Hebdo has recently reprinted the blasphemous cartoons of Prophet Muhammad; the same offensive sketches that were published by the magazine in 2015.

Following the incident, millions of people across the world took part in marches to support Prophet Muhammad. Muslim countries also held similar rallies; something that conveys a strong message.

"Today, we are in a critical situation in the world. We must defend the interests of Iran, Islam, and our values well. Fortunately, across the country in the face of any incident, whether it is the Zionists' conspiracy against the land and the people of Palestine or their conspiracy against the culture of Islam, the people always voice their support to the oppressed peoples of the world and still are standing firm against the bullying powers," Iran's president pointed out.
