Tehran Metro Line 10 construction begins

Tehran (IP) - The Managing Director of Tehran Metro Company said that with the start of the Tehran Metro Line 10 project, one of the largest construction projects of Tehran's urban management inaugurated.

Iran PressIran News: The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Tehran Pirooz Hanachi, Chairman of Tehran City Council Mohsen Hashemi, Head of Planning and Budget Organization Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, Governor of Tehran Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandpey, Head of Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Saeed Mohammad.

Line 10 of Tehran's metro starts with from Wardavard metro station in the west of Tehran and ends after passing 35 stations and 43 km in the area of Kosar aqueduct in the east of the city.

The line is supposed to complete the west-east corridor of the Tehran metropolis.

Ali Emam, Managing Director of Tehran Metro Company, added on Tuesday evening at the start of the Tehran Metro Line 10 project, that this line has many advantages because it goes to Wardavard station on Line 5, which is an inter-provincial line, extending from Tehran-Karaj to Hashtgerd in Alborz province.

Emam added that studies show, districts 2, 5, and 22 of Tehran, are the destination of 33% of passengers from Alborz province and with the launch of Tehran Metro Line 10, a large part of this population will be transferred to this line.

The Managing Director of Tehran Metro Company said that the construction of Tehran Metro Line 10 is planned in 5 phases, the first phase of which will be from the Kuhsar neighborhood of Tehran to the International Exhibition which is inaugurated on Tuesday.
