Tehran (IP) - The head of the Veterans and Disabled Federation of Iran said that the national team of the disabled has gained 44 quotas in the world competitions in sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, shooting, and athletics.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency, Mohammad Shervin Asbaghian stated: "With efforts made by athletes, especially in running, shooting, and weightlifting, the global quotas will increase."

Referring to the severe practice conditions for athletes due to the coronavirus outbreak, Asbaghian stated that veteran and disabled athletes have tried to observe health protocols, and team coaches have managed to monitor the condition.

The plan to camp in Iran's different provinces has been submitted to the National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus, the Medical and Sports Federation, and the National Paralympic Committee under the supervision of technical staff, The head of the Veterans and Disabled Federation reiterated.

Asbaghian highlighted that the first priority of the Veterans and Disabled Federation is to succeed in the Tokyo Paralympics and to raise the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He concluded that athletes in China Para-Asian and Youth Paralympics Games will succeed by proper planning.
