There have been at least 3,952,790 cases of the coronavirus in Brazil, according to data from state governments. As of Tuesday afternoon, 121,381 people had died.

Iran Press/America: Brazil has registered 3,952,790 cases of the virus since the pandemic began, while the official death toll from COVID-19 has risen to 122,681, according to ministry data, in the world’s worst coronavirus outbreak outside the United States.

Brazil’s government in early June removed comprehensive numbers on coronavirus cases and deaths from the Health Ministry’s website, claiming without offering evidence that state officials had been reporting inflated figures to secure more federal funding.

The global death toll nears 862,000  with 25,904,829 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization.
