China welcomes agreement between Iran and IAEA

The Chinese government welcomed the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran PressAsia: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Li Jian on Thursday welcomed and supported the agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed hope that the two sides would work together to implement the agreement effectively.

"The facts have shown that coercion only intensifies resistance, and only dialogue can resolve differences," said Zhao Li Jian.

Officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency agreed after two days of intensive consultations in Tehran on the settlement of issues identified by the IAEA.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, arrived in Tehran on Monday night and spent two days in Iran discussing cooperation between the two sides and resolving some disputes within the framework of safeguards commitments.

Iran has always had good cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency within the framework of its safeguard commitments, and this cooperation reached its peak after the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).         207/219
