Zarif: Pompeo‘s lawless bullying leaves US isolated again

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted on Tuesday about the result of today's UNSC meeting on the Middle East, calling on US President Donald Trump "to stop listening to novice bullies."

Iran Press/Iran News: Attaching a report about the result of today's meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote on his Twitter that US bullying against Iran has left this country isolated again.

Zarif noted that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo "lawless bullying leaves US isolated again."

"While US prevented a Sec. Council debate about its unlawful notification on Friday, members in today's meeting on ME refuted US’ attempt as null and void," he added.

On August 20, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo notified the United Nations that Washington was initiating the process to reinstate all UN sanctions on Iran. The US believes that the sanctions may come back into effect in 30 days.

Under the JCPOA, the state parties - Russia, the US, the UK, China, France, and Germany - can trigger a snapback mechanism to reimpose sanctions on Iran if Tehran violates the deal. Washington left the JCPOA in 2018.
