Yazd (IP) - Hosseini mourning rituals in Yazd, the center of Iran, are held this year in a different way from previous years and in accordance with health protocols due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Iran PressIran news: In previous years during the days of Muharram, mourning rituals in Iran had more enthusiasm, but this year it is held with a smaller population with the aim of breaking the chain of the pandemic.

The house of martyr Ayatollah Mohammad Sadoughi, the Husseiniya of the Karbalais, the Iraqi Kurds living in Iran, and the Amir Chakhmaq Takias (mourning places) in the historical city of Yazd are hosting mourners at the beginning of Muharram.

The city of Yazd also hosted tourists in the past years and in the days of Muharram. This city is always of interest to tourists with its variety of historical buildings, mosques, takias, and displays of Iranian motifs and culture.  207
