Iran exports carpets to 57 countries

Tehran (IP)- Iran's Customs spokesman said that Iranian carpets, kilims, and rugs have been exported to 57 countries in the past four months, about half of which were to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan.

Iran Press/Iran news: Seyyed Ruhollah Latifi, the spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), said that more than 20,000 tons of Iranian carpets, kilims, and rugs have been exported in the past four months, and Iran is the largest producer of carpets in the world."

Latifi added: Iranian carpets, kilims, and Gabbeh exported to countries such as Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, Italy, Kuwait, Kenya, Iraq, Pakistan, Bahrain, Belgium, Qatar, Thailand, China, France, England, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Denmark.

Referring to the fact that the carpet export market has become competitive, IRICA spokesman said: "Iranian carpets have always been unrivaled in all world markets due to their beautiful and magical design, durability, fine weaving, and natural and transparent colors."
