UAE ties with Israel, strategic mistake: Senior diplomat

The Special Assistant to the Speaker of Iran's Parliament for International Affairs said UAE's behavior to maintain formal ties with the Israeli regime is a strategic mistake, the consequences of which the Emirati government must be accountable.

Iran Press/Iran News: In a meeting with the Palestinian ambassador to Tehran Salah al-Zawawi on Saturday, Hossein Amirabdollahian said the Speaker of Iran's parliament called on his counterparts in Muslim countries to condemn UAE's act and support the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian envoy for his part slammed the treacherous act of UAE in normalizing ties with the Israeli regime and called on the regime to withdraw its historic mistake.

Salah al-Zawawi appreciated the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and demanded all countries of the world to follow Iran in their commitment to the Palestinian issue.

US President Donald Trump on Thursday 13 August announced an agreement between the UAE and the Zionist regime to fully normalize relations.

The UAE's move to normalize relations with the Zionist regime has been met with condemnation from many Islamic countries and Palestinian resistance groups.
