Iran (IP)- Iran's Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education described the ministry's pharmaceutical policy as encouraging foreign investment in the country instead of importing medicine.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Insulin Pen factory via videoconference on Monday, Saeed Namaki said: "This joint Iranian-foreign project is one of the important achievements of the country's pharmaceutical system after the Islamic Revolution."

Emphasizing on encouraging foreign investors to be present in Iran, he added: "Our policy is to support foreign investment in the country instead of importing medicine."

Referring to the high number of deaths due to non-contagious diseases in Iran, the Minister of Health said: "313k deaths occur annually in the country due to non-contagious diseases, and we intend to take steps to prevent these kinds of diseases."

He continued: "Of course, it is not that we do not think about the problems of non-contagious disease medicines. The joint project in the field of Insulin Pen production is one of the successful programs of the country in the pharmaceutical system."

Referring to the spread of diabetes in the world and in Iran, and the need to control the disease using new medical methods, the Minister of Health stressed: "By the implement of joint pharmaceutical projects, we will be able to do great things in the pharmaceutical industry."
