The Iranian ambassador to China stated that there is a huge potential for cooperation between Iran and China in the field of aerospace.

Iran Press/Asia: Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh, Iran's ambassador to China, referring to the successful launch of a Chinese satellite navigation system called BeiDou, tweeted on Monday: "Elite Iranian aerospace students in China can be a bridge between the two countries in this field."

Keshavarzadeh added: "The launch of the Beidou satellite marked the end of the US GPS monopoly."

China's last satellite navigation system, Beidou, was launched on June 23; after about eight days of flight, the satellite successfully entered its final orbit, which is located at a distance of 36,000 kilometers above the Earth's surface.

Beidou is one of the four global satellite navigation systems; the US GPS system, the European Galileo system and the Russian GLONASS system are the other three satellite navigation systems in the world.
