Tehran( IP) - Iranian President's Chief of Staff and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan discussed ways to develop relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade and transportation.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation, Mahmoud Vaezi, Iranian President's Chief of Staff and Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijani discussed the current situation related to the coronavirus crisis and stressed the importance of joint efforts to combat the virus.

Vaezi and Mustafaev expressed confidence in the further increase in trade relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan to the extent before the Coronavirus outbreak.

Chief of Staff of the President of Iran and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan also reviewed the ways of completing the North-South International Transport Corridor and stressed the strategic importance of this economic project together with exchanging views on the measures taken in this regard.

The two sides also described the implementation of joint projects and especially the expansion of relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of rail and road transport, calling it in the interest of both countries and the region.

Also in this telephone conversation, the continuation of contacts between the officials of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the orders of the Presidents of the two countries along with the importance of continuous efforts to develop comprehensive relations were emphasized.

Earlier, Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed the need to work for comprehensive development and consolidation of Tehran-Baku relations.
