Iran, Turkmenistan to develop trade exchanges, economic cooperation

Tehran (IP) - In the phone call between President Rouhani and Turkmen President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Wednesday, Tehran-Ashgabat stress efforts to further develop trade exchanges, economic cooperation and exchanging experiences in combatting coronavirus.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Presidents of Iran and Turkmenistan referred to the friendly, brotherly relations between the two countries, and stressed the need for the efforts of the two countries' officials to further develop and strengthen Tehran-Ashgabat relations and cooperation in order to ensure the interests of the two nations.

President Rouhani in the phone call with Turkmen president Gurbanguly said, "Iran is ready to cooperate in the field of health and fighting coronavirus, and the communication between the officials and the exchange of experiences of the two countries in this regard should continue more than before.”

The President assessed some measures taken to solve the problems of transportation and exchange of goods between the two countries, such as the construction of a new road bridge on the Sarakhs border and the resumption of rail traffic in order to develop trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, as positive, and stressed the importance of continuing these efforts.

Rouhani expressed hope that the containment of COVID-19 and the efforts of officials will lead to the further development of cooperation and relations in various economic fields.

During the phone call, Berdimuhamedow referring to the deep-rooted and historical relations and cooperation between the two countries, said, "Fortunately, Iran and Turkmenistan have very good relations and common grounds in various economic, political and cultural fields and cooperation in international organizations".

Praising the Iranian President for his efforts to develop relations and cooperation between the two countries, Berdimuhamedow called for the development of cooperation for the development of border exchanges and the development of related guidelines, as well as scientific and health cooperation and joint ventures.
