Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations called the US unilateral sanctions against the Syrian people shameful and said that all foreign forces whose presence is not allowed by the Syrian government should leave the country.

Iran PressAmerica: Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, on Thursday, referring to the summit of Astana's guarantor countries on the situation in Syria and the joint statement of the presidents of these countries (Iran-Russia-Turkey), added: "Astana's guarantors stressed their serious commitments to Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, and opposed illegal autonomy initiatives and separatist programs."

Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, who spoke at the UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East and the political solution in Syria, stated: "The Presidents of the Astana's guarantor states in their statement described the Israeli military strikes in Syria as destabilizing and a violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

Emphasizing the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Syrian territory, Takht-e Ravanchi said: "By occupying part of Syria, the United States continues to plunder the country's oil and wealth, as well as to support and protect terrorist groups under the guise of fighting terrorism."

Iran's envoy saying that there is no military solution to the Syrian conflict stressed: "This issue should only be resolved through a Syrian-led political process led by the Syrians."

Iran demands good relations with its neighbors

"Iran wants good relations with its neighbors, including its southern neighbors, but the United States does not want such relations to take shape," said Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations.

Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, in an interview with 'Russia Today' television channel, called the relations between Iran and China to have a long history and added: "The Iran-China agreement is not unusual; Iran and China are also natural allies which their cooperation is in the interests of both sides.

Referring to the Iraqi Prime Minister's visit to Tehran, the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations said that Iran and Iraq have traditional and historical ties and added: "US actions cannot affect relations between Iran and its neighbors."

Takht-e Ravanchi also criticized the US withdrawal from the JCPOA, stressing that it was the Americans who left the negotiating table after withdrawing from the international agreement.

Iranian Diplomat calling the assassination of General Ghasem Soleimani, late commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, a clear example of US state terrorism and said: "The assassination of this anti-terrorism hero was the greatest American gift to terrorists in the region."
