FM Zarif to visit Baghdad, Erbil tomorrow

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will leave Tehran for Baghdad tomorrow (Sunday) at the head of a high-level political delegation.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will meet with his counterpart Fuad Hussein and some other high-ranking Iraqi officials.

This is Zarif's fourth visit to Iraq as a foreign minister in the 11th and 12th governments of Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister previously traveled to Iraq on May 25, 2019, at the head of a high-level political delegation, for a two-day official visit.

During the trip, he discusses bilateral relations and regional and international developments with Iraqi officials.

Iraqi Media also says that Prime Minister of Iraq Mustafa al-Kazemi will pay a visit to Iran on Tuesday before traveling to the US.

Yesterday, Iraqi media according to their sources reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Baghdad on Sunday and meet Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and other Iraqi officials.

The report further said that at this meeting officials will discuss the program of the upcoming visit of Al-Kazemi to Iran.

No date has been decided for Al-Kazemi’s visit to Iran, but Iraqi sources said that the visit will precede his visit to Washington at the end of this month.
