Iranian Foreign Ministry rejects any claim on carte blanche to China

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the remarks of Shazand's MP in the Parliament who claimed that Iran is supposed to give carte blanche to China regarding the Iranian islands, saying that these statements are fundamentally false.

Iran PressIran News: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement calling the remarks of Mahmoud Ahmadi-Bighash, the representative of Shazand in the Iranian Parliament fundamentally false which in an interview with IRIB noted that the carte blanche on Iranian islands were supposed to be handed over to China.

Rejecting any claims about the transfer, lease, management or other claims regarding the Iranian islands, the Foreign Ministry stated that the document of 25 years of cooperation with China, which shows the high level of trust and comprehensive strategic relations between the two countries is honorable and in line with Iran's national interest.

Earlier on Thursday, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the 25-year agreement between Iran and China, saying that the country will not give a single meter of its land or even the exclusive right to use a single inch of Iranian territory, to China or any other country.

As a clear roadmap for future relations between Tehran and Beijing, on June 21, 2020, the final draft of the 25-year plan for the Comprehensive Document on Cooperation between Iran and China was approved by Iran's Government, which covers all areas, including oil, gas, and electronics.

Today, Kazem Gharib Abadi, Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to international organizations based in Vienna stated that the opposition of the United States and its allies to the Iran-China strategic document shows the validity of this wise decision to make the most of international opportunities in the face of maximum pressure.
