The US confirmed Coronavirus cases climbed to more than 3.5 million as newly reported infections around the world reached a record.

Iran PressAmerica: Globally, some 230,400 new infections were recorded Wednesday, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, eclipsing the previous single-day high of about 229,900 on Friday.

The US, which saw a single-day record 67,417 new confirmed cases Tuesday, added about 66,300 on Wednesday, according to Johns Hopkins.

The data showed that there are now 3,533,317 COVID-19 cases in the country.

The US is leading the world countries in the number of reported cases as well as COVID-19-related deaths, To date, 137,846 people in the country have died after contracting the disease.
