Dozens have been killed in an attack by the Taliban on the Afghan National Security Agency building in Samangan province.

Iran PressAsia: The governor of Samangan in northern Afghanistan said four armed assailants attacked the Samangan National Security Agency building with a car bomb on Monday, killing ten Afghan soldiers and wounding 40 others, including several civilians.

The attack led to clashes with Afghan security forces, in which four armed assailants were killed.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid while claiming the responsibility for the attack, said the attack on a security building in Samangan province has killed at least 70 people and injured dozens more.

In other news, the Afghan Ministry of Defense announced today that 20 Taliban members were killed in clashes with Afghan forces in three provinces of Faryab, Logar, and Balkh.

Taliban attacks are happening while the Afghan government has repeatedly called on the group to start direct talks with the government to end the war, but the Taliban have not yet responded positively.
