Iran Press/ West Asia: US officials said that Secretary of State Blinken reaffirmed the US’s commitment to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza and also that essential services resume in the besieged strip.
The officials say that Blinken also expressed that Palestinians must not be forcibly displaced and said that Washington was committed to working towards realizing aspirations to establish an independent Palestinian state.
But it is said that the US Secretary of State never used the word 'ceasefire'.
A small protest against Blinken’s visit took place.
People said that the US was part of the aggression and also protested against the atrocities being committed in Gaza.
Fadi Quran, campaigns director for Avaaz in Ramallah, told Al Jazeera that increasing public pressure on the US government is important.
“Blinken is currently acting against the majority of the US public and US interest,” he said. “So continued public pressure will force the US to either decide to be complicit with the mass murder of Palestinians or to force Israel to go for a ceasefire.”
Today is the 30th day since the start of the Al-Aqsa storm, and Gaza is still under Israeli bombardment.
According to the Ministry of Health Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation kills one child and injures two children every ten minutes during its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The occupation killed 3,900 children and injured 8,067 children with various injuries since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. 1,250 children are still missing under the rubble due to the Israeli bombing since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, the ministry reported.
The Israeli minister has also called for dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza.
In addition to the nuclear bomb comment, Amihai Eliyahu also suggested the entire besieged enclave’s population could move to Ireland or desert areas.
Eliyahu later walked back on his comment saying it was “metaphorical”.
Palestine’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the minister’s comments.
“These remarks are a translation of the genocidal war that Israel has been waging against the Gaza Strip for 30 days,” the ministry said in a statement.
Israeli media reported that Eliyahu has been suspended from government meetings indefinitely, citing a statement by the PM’s office.
