Yasuj (IP) - Shah Ghasem Dam Lake is a lovely lake located 15 km south of Yasuj, the capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, southwestern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: It looks like a scenic picture of turquoise-colored water and green oak trees.

Shah Ghasem Dam is a large arch dam providing hydroelectricity from the Karun River and in recent years it has dried up due to low rainfall, but this year it has been filled due to heavy rains in the spring.

The Dam, with a reservoir of 12 million cubic meters of water, has been built with the aim of irrigating 1,500 hectares of agricultural land, storing surface water, and developing the tourism capacity of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.

Due to its favorable climate and unique nature, the Shah Ghasem Dam Lake area welcomes travelers, nature lovers, and tourists, especially in spring and summer.

Shah Ghasem is the name of one of the grandsons of Imam Sajjad (PBUH), the fourth Shiite Imam, who is buried on the outskirts of Yasuj.
