Herat (IP)- Iranian rescue teams help the people in western Afghanistan by setting up tents.

Iran PressIran news: The 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Herat province, western Afghanistan, destroyed most of the old villages with mud houses, and the people were left unsheltered in the freezing weather, according to Iran Press.

The rescue teams of the Iranian Red Crescent Society are present in the earthquake-affected areas.

After participating in specialized search and rescue operations, Iranian rescue teams have now started the emergency accommodation of the earthquake victims.

The head of the Iranian rescue team in Herat Sajjadi shared with Iran Press that tents have been set up for the earthquake victims since the houses are uninhabitable.

In addition to the tents, some basic needs have been provided as well, according to Sajjadi. 

Two Afghan citizens told Iran Press that in addition to the death of their family members, the earthquake destroyed all their property. They are left with no food and shelter.  

Iranian rescue teams are present in various regions of western Afghanistan and are helping the people affected by the earthquake.
