Bloods of 10,000 Iranian on MEK supporters hands: Spox

Tehran (IP) - "39 years ago, today, Iran Chief Justice Ayatollah Beheshti and 72 senior figures were assassinated by US and Saddam-backed MEK terrorist cult," Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi reacted in a tweet to the Ayatollah Beheshti Martyrdom anniversary.

Iran PressIran News: Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti was an Iranian jurist, philosopher, cleric, and politician who was assassinated on 28 June 1981 by a terrorist group called MEK (MKO).

The assassin was identified, per the official version, as Mohammad Reza Kolahi, an operative of the People's Mujahedin of Iran, the terrorist organization called MEK.

In addition to commemorating those killed in the incident, Foreign Ministry spokesman tweeted today "Since then, MEK has remained under US/Euro auspices, letting it horribly kill & maim 10,000+Iranians. Their blood on terrorist MEK supporters' hands!"

Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO or MEK) terrorist group has a dark history of assassinations and bomb attacks against the Iranian government and the Iranian people.

It notoriously sided with Saddam's regime during the eight-year war with Iran.

On 28 June 1981, a powerful bomb went off at the headquarters of the Iran Islamic Republic Party (IRP) in Tehran, while a meeting of party leaders was in progress. Seventy-three leading officials of the Islamic Republic were martyred, including Chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti.

Chief justice and party secretary Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, four cabinet ministers (Health, transport, telecommunications and energy ministers), twenty-seven members of the Majlis, including Mohammad Montazeri, and several other government officials were among martyrs.
