Iran Press/Iran News: In response to a question by Iran Press about Iran-Afghanistan cooperation in the framework of combating the Coronavirus, he said, "Iran-Afghanistan hold constant talks on Iran's methods to contain the virus, in particular, Iran's National Screening initiative."
Due to a lack of electronic infrastructure, implementing the Iranian style of "National Screening" plan was impossible for Afghanistan, but Iran suggested that Afghans should try "Phone-Screening" to detect those who have been infected by the virus, he noted.
Deputy Health Minister Raisi also referred to a recent visit by Afghanistan's acting Foreign Minister to Tehran, saying: "During the meeting, the Afghan official said the US has sent 50 "polymerase chain reaction"(PCR) systems to Kabul", but Afghanistan does not possess the expertise to utilize this sophisticated system, so Iran has decided to send experts to train Afghan personnel.
Having friendly ties with Afghanistan, Iran has screened and treated over 3 million Afghan nationals during the Coronavirus outbreak, just like its own citizens, Raisi went on to say.
Deputy Health Minister Raisi added: "During their two-day visit to Iran, senior Afghan officials were surprised to see how effective is Iran's modern 16-hour healthcare centers in treating Covid-19 patients."
