Tehran (IP) - The enemies of Syria have failed, so they are taking other measures, and the new sanctions on Syria are the result of this defeat.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf in a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mahmoud on Monday 22 June said: "We have always considered Syria to be the front line of the resistance front. This issue started with the victory of the 1979 revolution in Iran and has become stronger over time."

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly added: "Although Syria has gone through difficult times, the conspiracies of the enemies of this country have not materialized. Sometimes we did not think we would win since we stood by our religious and Islamic beliefs, it led to victory and God's promise came true."

He added, "Today we see that the enemies of Syria, Iran and the Islamic Ummah are disappointed. If economic sanctions have been imposed, it is because the enemies have failed militarily."

The Speaker added "Today, we missed not having Martyr Soleimani among us. We all know that Lt.Gen Soleimani played a unique role in Syria, but since I know Brigadier General Ghaani (Soleimani's successor) very well, this path will continue with strength."

According to the report, Adnan Mahmoud, the Syrian ambassador, said: "Martyr Soleimani is a martyr of Syria, Iran, and the resistance; he donated his blood to maintain the resistance, and we will continue his path."
