Iran Press/ West Asia: Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad-Mahdi Esmaili, has traveled to Doha, the capital of Qatar, to participate in the 12th meeting of the Ministers of Culture of Islamic countries.
Meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Jamal Shah, on Monday on the sidelines of the meeting of the Islamic countries' culture ministers in Qatar, Iranian Minister of Culture Mohammad-Mahdi Esmaili called for the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
Jamal Shah, for his part, said that Islamabad was interested in bringing Iranian arts such as calligraphy, to be taught in Pakistani schools.
He also invited the Iranian minister of culture to visit Islamabad and take part in the Iranian Culture Week.
Esmaili and Jamal Shah also exchanged views on the development of bilateral cultural relations and the acceleration of the production of a film about Iqbal Lahori.
The 12th meeting of the Ministers of Culture of Islamic countries is underway under the theme "Towards a renewal of cultural action in the Islamic world."
