Iran Press/ Iran news: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Sameh Shoukry, the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt, held a positive and fruitful dialogue in detail about the issues of mutual interest in a meeting on Thursday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In this regard, Nasser Kanani, the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an interview, called this meeting a new development in the relations between the two countries and within the framework and positive trend of regional relations between Iran and its neighbors.
Kanaani said: "While reviewing the state of relations and looking at the future of relations between the two countries, the parties practically opened a new horizon in the path of relations between the two countries."
The spokesperson of Iran's diplomatic establishment stated: "We hope to witness new positive steps in the process of boosting relations between the two countries in the future."
Iran and Egypt, as the two central countries of the Muslim world, are located in two sensitive and strategic regions. Undoubtedly, both Egypt and Iran are considered part of the world's civilization foundations, and the culture of these two countries has been and continues to be an influential and outstanding factor. Still, political trends have always caused closeness or distance in the relations between these two countries.
