New York (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tehran is ready to strengthen environmental and industry relations with the Netherlands and the European Union.

Iran PressAmerica: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with his Dutch counterpart, Hanke Bruins Slot, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, while congratulating the appointment of Hanke Bruins Slot once again, underlined Iran's readiness to strengthen relations with the Netherlands and the European Union and said: "We have various areas for cooperation, including in the fields of environment, water and industry."

"Iran spent a lot of money to fight terrorism and has valuable experience in this field, and we are ready to discuss and exchange experience in this regard," he said.

The foreign minister of the Netherlands, for her part, said that diplomatic relations between Iran and the Netherlands are old and expressed interest in strengthening these relations and diplomatic cooperation.

Bruins Slot also expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to help peace and stability in the region and announced her readiness to continue constructive contacts and discussions with his Iranian counterpart.

In this meeting, some topics of interest were also discussed, including the process of sanctions lifting negotiations and cooperation and consultations with the European Union, and preparedness was announced for the continuation of talks in these fields.
