UK slams Trump over sanctions against International Criminal Court

In a rare move by the United States to impose sanctions on the Hague Tribunal over an investigation on American forces committed war crimes in Afghanistan, the British Foreign Secretary criticized the US and said that Britain strongly supports ICC.

Iran PressEurope: British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said on Saturday that the Hague tribunal, as a legal entity, should be allowed to conduct its investigations into international criminal activities impartially and without fear of punishment.

Raab strongly said Britain strongly supports the International Criminal Court in dealing with the worst international crimes.

in the meantime; EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell on Thursday night condemned the US decision to impose sanctions on several International Criminal Court officials, saying it was a matter of "grave concern".

Emphasizing that the International Criminal Court is a key factor in the administration of justice and peace, Burrell added: "All countries must respect and support this tribunal."

The US President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order authorizing sanctions against the International Criminal Court.

The executive order allows the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, to block the assets of a number of officials of the International Criminal Court who are involved in investigating the war crimes committed by the US military in Afghanistan.
