UN (IP) - The UN experts reported that 5,000 to 7,000 Daesh (ISIS) forces are present in Syria and Iraq.

Iran PressAmerica: The report says that during the first half of 2023, the threat posed by ISIS remained mostly high in conflict zones and low in non-conflict areas, according to Iraqi News.

The UN said that the overall situation is dynamic, and despite significant losses in the group’s leadership and reduced activity in Syria and Iraq, the risk of its resurgence remains.

Most of the ISIS members continue to command are fighters, though it has reduced its attacks deliberately to facilitate recruiting and reorganization, the UN experts said in the report.

Approximately 11,000 suspected ISIS forces are being held in arrest in northeast Syria.

Created by the US in 2012, Daesh or ISIS was supported by the West to topple the Syrian and Iraqi governments as the two Resistance Fronts against the Israeli regime in the region.

Delivering a speech on Monday evening on the 17th Anniversary of the July 2006 Victory, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said it seems that there is an American decision to return Daesh (ISIS) to work in many arenas.
